Αρκετές αεροπορικές εταιρείες, ανάμεσά τους η Lufthansa, η Air France, British Airways, η KLM και η Swiss, ακύρωσαν τις πτήσεις του σαββατοκύριακου προς τη Μέση Ανατολή.
Ειδικότερα, ακυρώθηκαν πτήσεις από και προς το Ισραήλ, τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα, το Κατάρ και τη Σαουδική Αραβία, σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες πτήσεων που δημοσιεύθηκαν σε ιστότοπους αεροδρομίων.

Μέχρι το βράδυ της Παρασκευής δεν είχε εκδοθεί σχετική ΝΟΤΑΜ, δηλαδή ειδοποίηση που υποβάλλεται από μια αρχή της αεροπορίας και προειδοποιεί πιλότους για πιθανούς κινδύνους σχετικά με την πορεία πτήσης τους ή με μια τοποθεσία, οι οποίοι μπορούν να επηρεάσουν την ασφάλεια της πτήσης.
