Την έκρηξη επιβεβαίωσε ο εκπρόσωπος Τύπου του αμερικανικού Πενταγώνου. Τζον Κίρμπι. Ωστόσο δεν επιβεβαίωσε ότι υπάρχουν τραυματίες που αναφέρουν άλλες πηγές.
